Meet Margaret



Margaret is a trained teacher, advisor, consultant and lecturer.

Trained as a Montessori teacher.

Owner, manager and teacher of two award winning nursery schools.

Traditional teaching qualification, studied for MA in early education.

Worked as Early Years Ofsted inspector.

Delivers professional development training for early years teaching staff.

Studied early child psychology.

Worked extensively in supporting parents to understand how to best support their child to learn and develop.

Delivers workshops for parents groups (both school and community).

Supports individual parents on a one to one basis.

Margaret has two adult sons.

Margaret has had an extensive teaching career heading up Early Years education in nurseries and primary schools and is a member of the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics. She has worked as an Ofsted inspector for over 10 years and has delivered Early Years teacher training at degree level.

As a qualified Early Years teacher trainer Margaret writes and delivers a wide range of professional development courses for degree-level students and practitioners. She has over 20 years’ training experience and was recently awarded a Grade 1 (outstanding) by Ofsted for the quality of her own teaching.

Specialising in developing outstanding early years practice in schools and settings, and in developing progress in early maths and science, Margaret supports inspirational ideas for developing effective outdoor learning. Margaret’s hugely successful workshops and courses have been delivered nationally and internationally in The Hague, Madrid and Bangkok. She has consulted for many local authorities and state and independent schools, and written and delivered mathematics training for BEAM and SMART.  Margaret also delivers a wide range of courses such as Action in the Early Years Foundation Stage for OSIRIS Educational, supporting best practice in the EYFS. She has delivered workshops at TES conferences in the UK.

She extensively researches current developmental issues and has written magazine articles and contributions for early learning reference books. Margaret is a qualified Montessori teacher and has studied Reggio Emilia, Te Whāriki (the national curriculum statement for the early childhood sector in New Zealand) and Outdoor Learning.
